The Louisville Metro Police Department Robbery Unit investigates business robberies in which the perpetrator is armed or indicates that he is armed.  This site was designed to provide the public and other investigators with a tool to help solve robberies.  The site highlights all business robbery cases in which an arrest has been made or in which there are surveillance video images available for viewing.  The concept is that the public may be able to assist us with unsolved robberies.  Closed files are also featured so that other investigators can compare the information with their open cases in an attempt to solve other open robberies.  Much of this information is included by clicking on the "robbery files" from the main page.

In addition to the information included in these files, there is sometimes information which is withheld from public release in order to use it as an investigative tool at a later date.  Other information is withheld at the request of the businesses which have been victimized.  In other situations, a viable suspect may have been developed in a case, but probable cause has not been developed for an arrest.  Although this information  has been purposely omitted from the public files, we realize that it may be useful to law enforcement officers in their investigations.  Therefore, the LMPD Robbery Unit has designed a password-protected service for any law enforcement investigator to gain access to this information.

In order to gain access to these sites, a password must be applied for by emailing us at webmaster@lmpdasap.com, by submitting your information through our online form below, or by calling (502) 574-2474.  All requests for access from law enforcement will be honored, but employment will be verified via a LINK/NCIC message prior to a password being issued.  All system users must also provide an active email address, as the password will be changed every three months in order to protect the integrity of the system.  When this occurs, users will be notified of the new password via email.  Also, users must have access to the computer software "Adobe Acrobat Reader" in order to view and search the files.
